Photo Contest on the New Charm of Seoul Subway Opens, Online Submissions Accepted from 7th to 25th for 19 Days
Capture the Charm of Seoul Subway from New Perspectives and Angles... A Total of 30 Winning Works to Be Selected
Seoul Metro Corporation (President Baek Ho) will hold the "2024 Subway Photo Contest" for citizens from October 7 to October 25 to discover new charms of the Seoul subway.
Marking the 50th anniversary of the subway opening this year, the contest invites works that capture the Seoul subway from new perspectives and compositions.
The theme of this contest is "New Charms of the Seoul Subway." To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Seoul subway opening, the contest seeks photographs that depict the subway from fresh viewpoints and angles.
The submission period is 19 days, from the 7th to the 25th. On the last day, submissions are accepted until 5 PM. Any citizen who loves the subway and photography can participate. Only individuals, not groups or teams, can apply, and each person can submit up to three entries during the period. Photos taken with smartphones are also eligible.
Works that may cause legal disputes, such as those not created by the submitter, cannot be submitted and may be disqualified even after winning. Photos from other subway operators or those submitted to other contests will also be excluded from awards.
Applicants wishing to participate should submit their photo works online via the contest submission page by the deadline (before 5 PM). Photos must have been taken after January 2020 and be unpublished works. They must not violate public order or morals and must not compromise the safety of trains or photographers.
Submission specifications require digital photos with a resolution of at least 3000 pixels and include shooting information (EXIF). File sizes must be between 3MB and 10MB per file, and for smartphone photos, between 2MB and 10MB. Film photos must be scanned from printed photos and converted into files for submission.
A total of 30 winning works, including the grand prize, will be selected in this contest, with total prize money amounting to 8.9 million KRW, including 3 million KRW for the grand prize.
The contest results will be announced on November 8 on the corporation’s website after judging according to schedule, and winners will be notified individually. Winning works will be exhibited in subway stations and produced as promotional materials to be showcased to citizens through illuminated advertisements and other means.
