Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends the '28th Senior Citizens Day Commemoration Event'
On the morning of the 4th at 10:30 AM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 28th Senior Citizens' Day commemorative event at the Nowon Citizens' Hall.
Every year, the district holds a ceremony on Senior Citizens' Day to express gratitude and respect to the elderly who have devoted themselves to the development of the local community and to promote the spirit of filial piety and respect for elders. This year's event also included awards presented to seniors and organizations that contributed to the promotion of senior welfare, followed by various celebratory performances.
The event was divided into two parts. In the first part, the program included ▲the national anthem ▲introduction of guests ▲congratulatory speeches ▲reading of the senior citizens' pledge, and an ▲award ceremony recognizing exemplary seniors and contributors to the advancement of senior welfare.
In the second part, there were performances by the traditional Korean music b-boy group 'Lastreet Crew' and trot singer 'Yongho'.
Outside the venue, several institutions such as the Nowon Senior Welfare Center and Surak Senior Welfare Center set up various experience booths. Programs included cognitive robot experiences, digital brain activity device trials allowing seniors to engage with the latest technology, as well as health acupressure point massages and art coloring activities.
