2024 4th Term Goyang-si Life Science Classroom Opens on the 21st
Recruitment of Students at Each Dong Administrative Welfare Center from 2 PM on the 14th
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 4th that it will operate the "2024 4th Goyang City Life Science Classroom," an experiment and experience-centered program that nurtures elementary school students' scientific imagination and creativity, from the 21st to December 20th.
Supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Lottery Commission, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, and Goyang City, the Life Science Classroom operated by Korea Aerospace University offers classes that allow students to easily and enjoyably experience scientific principles encountered in daily life. The classes are held once a week for 50 minutes, and this 4th session will be conducted in 24 classes across 19 administrative welfare centers in the city.
The 4th session's curriculum includes nine sessions: ▲ Science and technology controlling water ▲ The art of light ▲ Speaking with dots and lines ▲ What does the Earth look like? ▲ The Earth as a gem museum ▲ What happens when convex and concave lenses move apart? ▲ How many names does the Moon have? ▲ Solar system planet keychains ▲ The smallest particles that make up the world.
Starting from 2 p.m. on October 14th, elementary school students residing in Goyang City can apply on a first-come, first-served basis at each administrative welfare center. The tuition is completely free, and students only need to cover the cost of materials.
Additionally, the second half of the year’s online Goyang City Life Science Classroom will be held a total of nine times from the 23rd to December 24th via Naver Live Band. Applications will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2 p.m. on the 8th.
