Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival Transforms into a Global Festival
Multilingual Performance and Experience Program 마련
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 4th that the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, selected as a 'Representative Global Festival of the Republic of Korea,' will be held for three days until the 6th in the Suwon Hwaseong area.
The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival was selected as a global festival in March along with the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival and the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival. It will receive 2.5 billion KRW in national funding over three years to develop it as a representative inbound tourism product.
For this year's event, which marks the beginning of this initiative, multilingual performance and experience programs have been prepared to allow foreign tourists to easily experience our traditional culture. These include the changgeuk (traditional Korean opera) "Jagunggyagyo" with English subtitles displayed on a screen, the non-verbal media play "Hwaryeong," and "Jeongjo's Dasoban," where visitors can experience royal court tea and snacks.
