Silla University Lifelong Education Center Successfully Concludes Customized Education for Returning to Farming and Rural Life

The Lifelong Education Center at Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) recently held a completion ceremony for the "2024 Customized Education for Returning to Farming and Rural Life, 40s and 50s Career-Change Startup Farming Practical Exploration Course."
The customized education program for returning to farming and rural life, organized by the Return to Farming and Rural Life Comprehensive Center of the Korea Agency of Education, Extension, and Culture in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, is a project that supports education on agricultural startups and stable rural settlement for those interested in or preparing for returning to farming or rural life. It is being operated by 45 commissioned educational institutions.
The Silla University Lifelong Education Center was first designated as a commissioned institution for this program in 2018 and has been operating the "40s and 50s Career-Change Startup Farming Practical Exploration Course," providing education tailored to the characteristics of the Busan region.
The completion ceremony for this course, which was held from August 6 to September 28, took place on September 28 with the participation of about 30 people, including Silla University’s lead professor Choi Kwangjun, staff of the Lifelong Education Center, and students, marking the end of the program.
One graduate shared, "I was interested in returning to farming or rural life, but I was unsure where to start. Through this program, I was able to make my plans more concrete. I am happy that I could exchange information and build a network with people who share the same interests."

A representative from the Silla University Lifelong Education Center stated, "Even after the completion of the course, we will continue to support graduates so that they can participate in various activities related to returning to farming, rural life, and urban agriculture, by connecting them with various programs such as clubs and urban agriculture education."
