Silla University LINC 3.0 Project Group Hosts 'Industry-Academia-Research Regional Innovation Forum' with 14 Universities in Busan Area
Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) LINC 3.0 Project Group held the '5th Busan Region Industry-Academia-Research Regional Innovation Forum' to establish regional innovation strategies related to the RISE system.
The LINC 3.0 Project Group of Silla University is hosting the 5th Busan Regional Industry-Academia-Research Innovation Forum together with 14 universities in the Busan area.
View original imageThe '5th Busan Region Industry-Academia-Research Regional Innovation Forum,' jointly organized by the LINC 3.0 project groups of 14 universities in the Busan area (Silla University, Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, Kyungsung University, National Pukyong National University, National Korea Maritime & Ocean University, Tongmyong University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, Dong-Eui University, Busan Institute of Science and Technology, Pusan National University, Busan Health University, and Busan Women's University), was held on September 27 at the Capri Room of Paradise Hotel Busan, with representatives from each university and the Busan RISE Center in attendance.
Under the theme 'Universities as Agents of Solving Community Issues in Preparation for the RISE System,' the forum featured presentations including: 'Busan RISE Project Implementation Direction' by Ahn Haneul, Director of Busan RISE Center at Busan Institute for the Advancement of Science and Technology Higher Education; 'RISE, Regional Innovation and the Changing Role of Local Universities' by Hwang Kihyun, Head of the LINC 3.0 Project Group at Dongseo University; and 'RISE, Regional Innovation and the Changing Role of Vocational Colleges' by Lee Sangseok, Vice President of Busan Institute of Science and Technology. The event concluded with a comprehensive discussion chaired by Kyung Kapsu, Head of the LINC 3.0 Project Group at National Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
Lee Beomjin, Head of the LINC 3.0 Project Group at Silla University, stated, "It is a crucial time for regional universities to play a significant role in addressing the issue of local extinction due to the outflow of young people," and added, "Taking this 5th Busan Region Regional Innovation Forum as an opportunity, we will continue to actively cooperate with other universities in the Busan area to contribute to the development of the local community and industry."
