LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam Announces October Horse Racing Schedule
56 Races at Busan-Gyeongnam Over 8 Days in 4 Weeks, Gyeongnam Governor's Cup and Gimhae Mayor's Cup on the 20th
Korea Racing Authority's LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (headed by Um Youngseok) has announced the October racing schedule, featuring a total of 56 Busan-Gyeongnam races held over eight days across four weeks.
Every Friday, there will be eight Busan-Gyeongnam races and eight Jeju simulcast races. On Saturdays, 11 Seoul races and six Jeju races will be simulcast. Sundays will feature six Busan-Gyeongnam races and 11 Seoul simulcast races. Of the 56 races held in Busan-Gyeongnam, 43 will be for domestic-bred horses, 11 will be mixed races for domestic and imported horses, and two will be featured races.
The first Jeju race on Fridays starts at 11:00 AM, while the first Seoul race on Saturdays and Sundays begins at 10:35 AM. The final race on all three days?Friday, Saturday, and Sunday?starts at 6:00 PM.
According to the October schedule, two featured races will take place on the 20th: the Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Cup (G3, 2000m) and the Gimhae Mayor's Cup (L, 1200m). The Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Cup, held as the fourth Busan-Gyeongnam race, is the second leg of the Queens' Tour FW series, bringing together top fillies and mares from Seoul and Busan-Gyeongnam for a head-to-head competition. Notably, last month's first leg, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Cup (G3, 1400m), saw Busan-Gyeongnam's horse Jeulgeounyeojeong achieve a flawless victory, heightening anticipation for the second showdown.
On the same day, the Gimhae Mayor's Cup, held as the sixth Busan-Gyeongnam race, serves as the second leg of the Juvenile Series to determine the best two-year-old domestic racehorse, where rookies will showcase their honed skills. The second leg of the Juvenile Series is held in both Seoul and Busan-Gyeongnam, and on the same day in Seoul, the Nonghyup Chairman's Cup will be held under the same race conditions.
