Carbon Neutrality Seminar, Detailed Plan Development and Independent Project Discovery
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) established the 'NET-ZERO Task Force' on the 25th to achieve its 2050 carbon neutrality goal.
This task force, set up as a non-permanent organization, aims to play a leading role in creating an eco-friendly city in line with the carbon neutrality policies of the government and Busan City.
The task force plans to identify innovative and practical tasks for carbon neutrality and establish detailed implementation strategies, based not only on collaboration with various departments within BMC but also on consultations with external experts.
Specifically, it will focus on: ▲ designing low-carbon buildings ▲ introducing eco-friendly energy ▲ developing business models for new energy industries ▲ developing models for carbon-neutral cities ▲ exploring participation in renewable energy projects.
Starting with the formation of this task force, BMC plans to hold its first regular meeting to set operational directions and organize a carbon neutrality seminar.
BMC is developing a Busan-style landscaping and planting model to curb carbon emissions by constructing zero-energy buildings and expanding the installation of renewable energy systems. In addition, it is working with the local community to realize carbon neutrality by establishing plans to increase carbon absorption through blue carbon initiatives.
