TikTok "Connecting Advertisers and TikTokers... Expanding Monetization Program"
'TikTok One' Launch Scheduled for Q4 This Year
TikTok will launch 'TikTok One,' a platform connecting advertisers and creators, in the fourth quarter of this year and expand its monetization programs.
Jung Jae-hoon, Head of Operations at TikTok Korea, stated at the 'TikTok Creator House Media Workshop' held on the 24th at Peaches Dowon in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, "We expect that once TikTok One is activated, collaboration between creators and brands will become more active."
The platform operates by having brands propose campaigns or sponsorship programs on TikTok One, which creators then participate in. Currently, a beta service is underway in the United States. It is scheduled to expand to South Korea and some other countries in the fourth quarter of this year.
In the fourth quarter, the location-based interest information (POI) feature, which allows adding place information to videos, will also be enhanced. Currently, precise searches are only possible in certain areas, but the service will be upgraded to the level of map applications in the future. To this end, discussions are underway with domestic map service providers.
Additionally, the creator monetization program will be expanded. The eligibility criteria for the Creator Reward Program, which provides monetary compensation for high-quality original content over one minute, will be significantly lowered from the current requirement of 50,000 followers to 10,000 followers in the fourth quarter. Accordingly, creators with over 10,000 followers and more than 100,000 video views within the last 30 days can earn revenue by uploading original content longer than one minute.
