Yeongdeungpo-gu Provides Customized 'Daily Care Services' for Residents in Need
Providing home care, housekeeping, hospital accompaniment, and psychological support services for young, middle-aged, and older adults needing daily care and young family caregivers... Offering customized integrated services to eliminate care blind spots and improve quality of life
- Anyone with care needs can apply regardless of income level
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will provide the ‘Daily Care Service’ to young, middle-aged, and older adults in need of care, as well as young family caregivers, regardless of income level.
The Daily Care Service is an integrated service offering home care, hospital accompaniment, meal management, and psychological support, broadly divided into basic and specialized services.
The basic service involves care providers visiting the user’s home to offer home care, housekeeping, and daily support services for a set period. The specialized services allow users to choose from ▲hospital accompaniment ▲meal and nutrition management ▲psychological support.
The basic service can be flexibly used from 12 to 72 hours per month, and up to two types of specialized services can be selected depending on the category.
The support targets young, middle-aged, and older adults (ages 19?64) who need care due to illness, isolation, injury, etc., as well as young family caregivers (ages 13?39) who are caring for family members with illnesses or mental disorders or who are responsible for the household income.
The Daily Care Service is provided for six months, with some out-of-pocket expenses based on income level. Residents wishing to apply can visit their local community service center to submit an application.
Previously, the district publicly recruited institutions to participate in the ‘Daily Care Service’ project through an announcement. A review committee was formed, and participating institutions were fairly selected based on differentiated evaluation criteria such as service provision, care personnel, and service quality management. Selected institutions will provide care services for three years, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027.
Additionally, the district operates the ‘Care SOS’ service year-round to address care blind spots. Targeting primarily seniors, people with disabilities, and middle-aged adults aged 50?64, the service continuously identifies residents in urgent and temporary need of care. Residents wishing to apply can visit their local community service center at any time regardless of the period.
