Dong-A University Successfully Hosts National Taekwondo Championship and Busan Student Athletics Competition
Over 2,000 Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Participate Nationwide
Dong-A University (President Lee Haeu) successfully hosted the '2024 Dong-A University President's Cup National Taekwondo Competition and Busan Student Championship' in collaboration with the Busan Taekwondo Association (President Kim Sangjin).
The event, held over two days on the 21st and 22nd at the Gangseo Gymnasium in Busan, attracted more than 2,000 elementary, middle, and high school students from across the country, who showcased their skills in sparring, poomsae, and breaking categories.
The opening ceremony, held on the morning of the 21st, was attended by President Lee Haeu, President Kim Sangjin of the Busan Taekwondo Association, and others.
In his opening remarks, President Lee Haeu said, "Taekwondo is a martial art that emphasizes the right mental attitude. I hope all participants compete fairly and that this event becomes a beautiful occasion for all taekwondo practitioners to share friendship and harmony. I also hope this competition will be an opportunity for you to grow and plan your future."
President Kim Sangjin of the Busan Taekwondo Association said, "I applaud all of you who are nurturing your dreams and hopes through taekwondo training. I hope you gain valuable experiences and memories during the competition. I would also like to thank everyone involved for their support and cooperation, and I wish for continued success for the taekwondo community and Dong-A University."
