View original imageThe 'U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament' is the largest youth baseball tournament in the country, hosted by Gijang-gun and the Korea Baseball Softball Association, and jointly organized by the Korea Baseball Softball Association and the Busan Baseball Softball Association.
This tournament, now in its third year in Gijang-gun since 2022, aims to promote youth baseball and strengthen the status of Gijang-gun as a baseball city.
This year's tournament will feature around 4,300 players from 126 teams composed of athletes under the age of 15. The competition will be divided into three leagues named after local landmarks: Osiria, Haepalang-gil, and Ahopsan Forest, where fierce competition is expected.
The preliminary rounds will be held over 11 days from the 21st (excluding the 30th), and the finals will take place on October 2 at the natural grass field of Gijang-Hyundai Motor Dream Ballpark. Detailed tournament schedules can be found on the Gijang-gun website, and all games are open to the public free of charge.
Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "I hope all participants will showcase their honed skills and engage in great matches without any accidents," adding, "We will spare no effort in providing active support for the successful operation of the tournament."
