Hapcheon County Holds Special Lecture on "Local Era Vision and Strategy"
Strengthening Capacity to Develop Region-Specific Strategies for Proactive Response to Local Extinction
Hapcheon County, Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 5th that it held a special lecture on the topic of "Vision and Strategy for the Local Era" at the Grand Auditorium of the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, with more than 250 public officials including County Governor Kim Yooncheol in attendance, and invited Woo Donggi, Chairperson of the Presidential Committee for the Local Era.

This lecture was organized to help public officials gain a deeper understanding of national balanced development policies and to strengthen their capacity to develop region-specific strategies to proactively respond to local extinction.
In his special lecture, Chairperson Woo analyzed the phenomenon of concentration in the Seoul metropolitan area and the issue of local extinction, as well as the balanced development policies and limitations of previous administrations. He emphasized the need for a transition to decentralization and balanced development led by local governments.
Governor Kim Yooncheol stated, "This special lecture will be an important opportunity to reconsider the current reality and future of our county," and added, "I hope it will serve as a foundation for realizing the local era by contemplating together the vision and strategies for the sustainable development of Hapcheon County, which is at risk of population extinction."
