Geochang County Conducts Safety and Health Training for On-site Workers
Accelerating Efforts to Create a Healthy and Safe Work Environment
Geochang County, Gyeongnam, conducted the regular safety and health education for the third quarter of 2024 at the Geochang Culture Center on the 28th, targeting over 480 on-site workers.
The training invited Shim Hongbang, who previously served as the director of Seoul Veterans Hospital and Chungju Medical Center, and is currently serving as the director of Geochang County Geriatric Hospital, as the lecturer. The session focused on preventing industrial accidents that may occur at workplaces and strengthening worker safety.
The main topics included proper working posture, prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, and appropriate health management methods to prevent heat-related illnesses. The training provided useful information for outdoor workers who are vulnerable to heat-related and musculoskeletal disorders, receiving a positive response from attendees.
Gu Inmo, Mayor of Geochang County, stated, “Workers’ safety awareness begins with safety and health education,” and added, “Safety is not a matter of choice or consideration, but a responsibility that must be fulfilled. We must all work together to create a safe and healthy working environment.”
Meanwhile, the county conducts special health checkups every year for workers exposed to hazardous factors and carries out workplace environment measurements twice a year in efforts to create a safe and healthy workplace.
