On the 27th, Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju, Gyeongnam, visited the National Assembly to meet with National Assembly members Park Dae-chul and Kang Min-guk, where they discussed local issues and requested support for securing national funding for key projects.
During the meeting, Mayor Jo asked the local lawmakers for policy support to ensure that new projects by public institutions located in Jinju Innovation City, such as Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, are carried out within Jinju rather than other regions. He also repeatedly requested their cooperation to prevent the outflow of personnel from these relocated public institutions.

On this day, Mayor Jo provided detailed explanations of projects necessary for regional development, including attracting space industry-related facilities such as a 3D Printing Technology Integrated Support Center, constructing a road between Sacheon and Jeongchon in Jinju, establishing an otter ecological observation center at Jinyang Lake, applying for the Hadae District Urban Regeneration Project, and bidding for the 2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo. He requested their support in securing national funding for these initiatives.
In particular, Mayor Jo urged National Assembly member Park Dae-chul to make efforts to secure national funding for the construction of a core materials and parts certification test field for future mobility?a project previously proposed during a visit to central government ministries in July?and to ensure that the construction of sports facilities (swimming pool) in Jeongchon is included in the comprehensive development plan for areas provided to US Forces Korea.
Mayor Jo stated, "I hope for the utmost interest and cooperation from local lawmakers so that as many pending projects as possible can be included in next year's government budget. Moving forward, we will continue to build a cooperative system with the National Assembly for the happiness of citizens and the development of Jinju."
