Busan Port Authority Hosts 'BPA ESG and Innovation Week' for Port Ecosystem Collaboration
A Platform to Experience Changes in Management Environment through ESG and Digital Technology
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) will hold the 'BPA ESG·Innovation Week' at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal from the 26th to the 30th, in collaboration with the local community and the port ecosystem.
This event has been organized to help BPA employees and related companies at Busan Port experience changes in the management environment and immediately apply them in the field, as management innovation based on ESG and digital technology is rapidly emerging as a key competitiveness for sustainable corporate growth.
On the 26th, BPA employees announced ESG action guidelines to internalize environmental, social, and governance principles throughout their work, and launched the 'Gogogo Challenge,' a program for recycling and upcycling waste resources in partnership with the local community.
The Gogogo Challenge involves collecting waste resources, upcycling them, and donating to vulnerable groups. From August 29 to October 31, plastic bottle caps and milk cartons will be collected and upcycled into products to be donated to the local community.
On the 27th, a 'Sustainable ESG Management Seminar' will be held for BPA employees and Busan Port partners, presenting topics such as the concept and domestic and international trends of ESG, POSCO's ESG supply chain and risk management cases, and outstanding cases of participation in CoolsNC Co., Ltd.'s shared growth program.
On the 28th and 29th, BPA employees, the local community, and local companies will participate together in volunteer activities such as distributing snack packages to commemorate Lotte Wellfood's regular donations to the BPA Hope Pantry.
On the 30th, to promote a culture of management innovation based on digital technology such as generative AI for planning, PPT, and data analysis, an expert in the AI field will be invited to hold the 'Busan Port Community Digital Workshop.'
