Samyang Round Square announced on the 26th that employees of its affiliates, including Samyang Foods, participated in a volunteer activity to assemble solar lanterns in celebration of the 21st Energy Day.

View original imageEmployees of Samyang Round Square personally assembled and produced 50 solar lanterns and delivered them to the social welfare organization Miral Welfare Foundation. The lanterns will be delivered to Indonesia within the year through the Miral Welfare Foundation.
This volunteer activity is part of the eco-friendly employee volunteer group "Onus Matina Volunteer Group," launched by Samyang Round Square to realize ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values. Employees and their families from five affiliates, including Samyang Foods, Samyang Logistics, Samyang Square Mill, Samyang Square Pack, and Samyang Flour Milling, participated in the volunteer work.

Solar lanterns are eco-friendly lighting devices that can be used semi-permanently through solar charging without electricity or kerosene. They will be delivered to vulnerable households in energy-poor countries and used to support safety for nighttime study, safe walking, wildlife evacuation, and crime prevention.
