Human rights activist Park Yeon-mi, a defector from North Korea, is drawing attention for her endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
On the 19th (local time), Park stated on her X (formerly Twitter), "I am a survivor of the North Korean socialist regime, and I will vote for Donald Trump in the November election."
She added the hashtag 'MAGA24,' which stands for 'Make America Great Again.'
Earlier, in July, Park posted a photo of former President Trump bleeding after being attacked, along with the message, "I could not be prouder to be an American, and I could not be prouder to have voted for him."
Park was born in Hyesan, Ryanggang Province, North Korea, in 1993 and defected in 2008. After traveling through China and Mongolia with her mother, she settled in South Korea in 2009.

Park enrolled in the Department of Police Administration at Dongguk University and transferred to Columbia University's GS School in 2015. Due to the unique nature of her work as a North Korean human rights activist and to ensure her personal safety, she obtained U.S. citizenship in 2021.
