"Harris to Support Policies for the Development of the Cryptocurrency Industry"
Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate and Vice President of the United States, plans to support policies that promote the development of the cryptocurrency industry, Bloomberg reported on the 21st (local time), citing a spokesperson from the Harris campaign.
According to the report, Brian Nelson, senior policy advisor for the campaign, stated at the Democratic National Convention, "Vice President Harris will support policies that ensure emerging technologies and industries of this kind can continue to grow."
This stance from the Harris campaign is interpreted as an active attempt to appeal to the cryptocurrency sector, which is increasingly leaning pro-Trump. Former President Donald Trump maintains the position that the United States should embrace the cryptocurrency industry.
The Harris camp maintains that 'safeguards' are necessary for the cryptocurrency industry while extending an olive branch to the sector. Given the lingering impact of large-scale bankruptcies such as FTX, they have presented a more progressive position that supports policies which include safeguards yet aid industry growth.
