Significantly Relaxed Application Criteria, Now Includes Foreign Workers
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will ease the requirements for its dormitory rental support program to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) address workforce shortages and strengthen their competitiveness.
Notice on Relaxation of Conditions for Small and Medium Enterprise Dormitory Rental Support Program
View original imageThis measure was implemented as a result of improvements reflecting the opinions of businesses and on-site feedback, aiming to create an environment where SMEs can secure manpower more smoothly.
Under the newly relaxed conditions, foreign workers holding visas such as E-7 or E-9 and who are registered as residents in Gumi City are now eligible for support. Each company can receive support for up to five employees. This is intended to help foreign workers settle stably in the region and assist companies in retaining their workforce.
Additionally, companies that have received support for three consecutive years will now be eligible for support for newly hired employees within the current year, provided the number of applicants does not meet the quota in the first half of the year.
The dormitory rental support program in Gumi City is operated by the Gyeongbuk Employers Federation. When SME business owners rent apartments, villas, or studio apartments to provide dormitories for their workers, up to 80% of the monthly rent, with a maximum of 250,000 KRW per month, will be subsidized for one year.
The relaxation of these support conditions is expected to provide practical assistance in resolving workforce shortages for SMEs and will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of businesses.
Applications are open until the budget is exhausted. For more details, please visit the Gyeongbuk Employers Federation website or contact the business support team.
