Systematic Training Under Professional Instructors Aims to Expand Water Sports Base
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced that it will recruit participants for the Paddleboard Class at Ttukseom Hangang Park Seoul Windsurfing Site from the 17th to the 23rd.
Organized by the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, this event was prepared to promote water sports that can be enjoyed on the Han River, expand its base, and elevate the status of water sports as a part of everyday sports activities.
The Paddleboard Class will be held in three sessions. Each session will consist of 30 participants, divided into three groups. Anyone interested in paddleboarding and residing in Seoul can participate, and elementary school students must attend with a guardian.
Under the guidance of professional instructors, the class will be systematically conducted with ▲warm-up exercises and water safety education ▲how to use a paddleboard and basic principles ▲paddling techniques, turning, and buoy navigation ▲and free paddleboard tours.
Additionally, safety personnel and rescue boats will be deployed to prepare for any safety accidents.
The participation fee is 15,000 KRW, and all participants will receive a souvenir. Those who wish to participate can inquire at the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council.
Lee Jung-seop, Chairman of the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, said, “We have prepared the Paddleboard Class for the first time to widely promote and develop water sports activities using Ttukseom Hangang Park, an asset of Gwangjin-gu, and we hope for the active interest and participation of citizens.”
