8 Complaints and Lawsuits Filed Against Q10 and Others

The police are accelerating their investigation by receiving over 50 complaints and accusations against the issuer of Happy Money gift certificates, which have been practically suspended due to delayed settlements with Tmon and Wemakeprice.


A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official stated at a regular press briefing on the 12th, "A total of 54 complaints and accusations related to Happy Money have been received at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul," adding, "Currently, the Gangnam Police Station has been designated as the primary investigation office, and supplementary statements from the complainants are being collected."

The police official further added, "A total of 8 complaints and accusations have also been received against the parent company Qoo10 Group and its affiliates Wemakeprice and Tmon."


Regarding the prosecution forming a dedicated investigation team to probe the 'Timemep (Tmon and Wemakeprice)' incident, the official said, "Discussions are ongoing about which agency will take charge of the investigation."


Meanwhile, six consumers who previously purchased Happy Money gift certificates filed a complaint against Ryu Seung-seon, CEO of Happy Money INC, on fraud charges at the Gangnam Police Station on the 27th of last month.


Happy Money INC announced on the 31st of last month that it would stop refunds, stating that with Tmon and Wemakeprice entering corporate rehabilitation, it has become practically impossible to receive unpaid funds.
