Seong Seung-min (21, Korea National Sport University) became the first Asian athlete to win a medal in the women's modern pentathlon at the Olympics.
On the 11th (local time), Seong Seung-min won the bronze medal by finishing third in the women's modern pentathlon final held at the modern pentathlon venue set up at the Palace of Versailles in France during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This is the first Olympic medal won by a Korean female modern pentathlete.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held in 2021, Jeon Woong-tae (Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall) won a bronze medal in the men's event, marking Korea's first-ever medal in modern pentathlon, and this time a female athlete has reached the podium.
