This year marks the 26th ceremony.
The ceremony, held on the 10th, was attended by Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, National Assembly members, provincial and city council members, the commander of the Marine Corps Education and Training Group, and over 300 members of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
Mayor Hong stated, "I express my deep gratitude and respect to the veterans who fought in the Marine Corps Jindong-ri District Battle. I will do my utmost to spread the culture of honoring those who have sacrificed and devoted themselves to the protection of our nation and people, so that their patriotic spirit will be passed down to future generations."
Meanwhile, as in the previous year, the eve festival held at Odong-dong Culture Square in Masan Happo-gu featured celebratory performances by the Marine Corps band and honor guard, making it a meaningful occasion for Marine Corps Veterans Association members and citizens to commemorate the victory in the Jindong-ri District Battle together.
