Yangsan-si Dong-myeon Holds Workshop to Establish Village Welfare Plan for Next Year
Community Social Security Council, Five Complete Level 3 Facilitator Course
The Dong-myeon Community Social Security Council in Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do (Public Chairperson Nam Shinwoo, Private Chairperson Song Youngcheol) held a workshop with council members on the 6th in the main conference room of the Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center to establish the 2025 Village Welfare Plan.
The Village Welfare Plan refers to a plan created to address and solve welfare issues in the village by reflecting the unique characteristics of Dong-myeon and the roles of its residents through a resident-led approach.
In preparation for the workshop, five council members completed the Level 3 Local Activist Facilitator Training Course in July, and among them, Kim Sujeong served as the facilitator to lead the discovery of village agendas, drawing out various opinions on residents' practical needs and solutions.
The main welfare agendas identified through this workshop focused on support for the daily lives of single elderly individuals and families in crisis, as well as addressing cultural disparities. Key suggestions included: a community event for the elderly, the Jeongseong-gadeuk-chan Sharing Project (side dish support), cleaning support for single elderly households, and cultural experiences for vulnerable groups.
Nam Shinwoo, head of Dong-myeon, stated, "It was a valuable time to reflect on the characteristics of vulnerable households in Dong-myeon and the welfare services they need," and added, "We will strive to promote a practical and meaningful Village Welfare Plan based on the diverse opinions of local residents."
