Wemade Reports 24.1 Billion KRW Operating Loss in 2Q... Deficit Narrowed
Sales of 171.4 Billion KRW, Up 7.6% Year-on-Year
Wemade announced on the 6th that its consolidated sales for the second quarter of this year reached 171.4 billion KRW, a 7.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating loss recorded 24.1 billion KRW, showing a slight improvement from the previous year.
The company explained that the increase in sales was "the result of global sales of 'Night Crow' and new license sales."
Wemade plans to actively improve its performance in the second half of this year by focusing on the Chinese services of Mir M and Mir 4. Mir M has completed obtaining the game license and signed a publishing contract with The9 in China. Mir 4 has signed a publishing contract with 37Games in China and is currently working on obtaining the game license.
At the same time, the company intends to accelerate the development of a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Legend of YMIR,' which incorporates its proprietary blockchain technology.
The company will also introduce and promote various systems to enhance transparency and reliability in decision-making and cash flow of the blockchain-based social platform ‘Wepublic.’ To expand the usability of WEMIX, it will provide services such as sponsorship functions and funding projects, and prepare a fair voting system that anyone can use easily and conveniently.
In addition, Wemade plans to continue efforts to expand the WEMIX ecosystem by launching the newly revamped ‘WEMIX Play’ and ‘WEMIX Pay.’
