Pukyong National University Hosts 2nd Digital Healthcare Symposium
Meeting of Medicine and Engineering - Fostering Future Advanced Medical Technologies
On the 5th, Pukyong National University held the 2nd Digital Healthcare Symposium at the Dongwon Jang Bo-go Hall, with over 100 participants including universities, hospitals, industries, and officials from Busan in the fields of digital healthcare and biomedical engineering.
This event was organized by the Pukyong National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (Director Oh Junghwan), with participation from Kosin University Gospel Hospital and LG Electronics, under the theme "The Convergence of Medicine and Engineering - Fostering Future Advanced Medical Technologies." The symposium aimed to create a regionally specialized digital healthcare ecosystem by integrating future advanced medical technologies into the local public healthcare infrastructure.
On this day, specialists from various medical fields such as ophthalmology and plastic surgery at Kosin University Gospel Hospital attended and communicated with Pukyong National University to activate a technological cooperation system in the digital healthcare sector.
Participating from Pukyong National University were the Smart Gym-Based Active Senior Healthcare Translational Research Center, the New Senior Customized Smart Healthcare Project Group, and the Marine Bionics Convergence Technology Center. From Kosin University Gospel Hospital, the Future Medical Research Center, the Environmental Disease Susceptibility Prediction Technology Development Project Group based on Genomic Analysis, and the Community-Based Smart Health Management System Establishment Project Group participated. LG Electronics was represented by the Medical Solutions Team.
Participants shared strategies and technological exchanges in the digital healthcare industry, successful case studies, healthcare information, and support measures for digital healthcare technology to vitalize related industries and promote community growth through keynote lectures, future strategy panel discussions, poster sessions, and networking programs.
The keynote lectures included: ▲"Convergence of Smart Home, Appliances, and Healthcare" (Team Leader Koo Kangrok, LG Electronics), ▲"Introduction of Successful Clinical Applications in Healthcare" (Professor Ok Cheolho, Kosin University Gospel Hospital), ▲"The Role of Digital Health Technology in the Era of Active Seniors" (Professor Oh Junghwan, Pukyong National University, RLRC Center Director), and ▲"Advanced Technology and Application Directions for Healthcare Sensors" (Professor Lim Hyoryeong, Pukyong National University).
This was followed by a panel discussion and poster session on the topic of "Utilization Strategies for Digital Healthcare Technologies Needed in the Community."
