Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 6th that five project groups received the highest S grade in the performance evaluation of the Industry-Academy Integrated Apprenticeship Schools conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor evaluated 74 project groups and 167 schools nationwide across 20 areas including support activities, training operation, quality control, and evaluation management.
In Incheon, five project groups?Incheon Mechanical Technical High School, Bupyeong Technical High School (Mechanical field), Bupyeong Technical High School (Electronics field), Korea Beauty Association, and Pyeongchon Business High School (Mungok High School)?received the S grade. Additionally, two project groups, Inpyeong Automotive High School and Incheon Jaeneung High School, earned an A grade.
Following last year’s achievement where six project groups received the S grade, Incheon again secured excellent results this year with five project groups earning the S grade for two consecutive years.
The Industry-Academy Integrated Apprenticeship School is a new vocational education model introduced by adapting the German and Swiss apprenticeship education systems to the domestic context to strengthen field-centered vocational education. Specialized high school students can learn both theory and practical fieldwork by alternating between school and companies.
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education began operating the first apprenticeship school project group in 2014 and selected the seventh project group last year. Currently, apprenticeship education is being conducted in 10 schools across 14 fields.
