On the 5th, CJ Logistics announced that its Middle East subsidiary CJ ICM completed project logistics transporting heavy cargo weighing a total of 1.1 million tons in Iraq. Project logistics refers to the transportation of materials required for large-scale construction such as infrastructure installation and production facility construction, timed to the construction schedule.
CJ ICM participated in the Iraq oil refinery upgrading facility construction project and moved large-scale equipment such as petroleum refining facilities and construction materials over 10 months starting from June last year. The process involved unloading equipment at Umm Qasr Port in Iraq, handling port storage and customs clearance, and then transporting them about 95 km to the construction site near Basra. They transported 268 types of heavy cargo with lengths up to 84 meters and weights ranging from 50 tons to 890 tons.
CJ ICM emphasized that their technology, which scientifically designs detailed plans including transportation equipment, securing devices, and specialized personnel tailored to cargo, climate, and terrain characteristics, was crucial. They precisely distributed the cargo load to prevent risks such as vehicle overturning and cargo damage, while adhering to the scheduled arrival date.

CJ ICM deployed a total of 950 units of special transport equipment SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Trailer) during the transportation period. This equipment can connect front, rear, and sides like Lego blocks, allowing flexible expansion of loading space according to cargo volume and distributing the cargo load.
Additionally, considering the cargo volume, temporary removal of obstacles such as bridges, traffic lights, and signboards was carried out, along with undergrounding power lines and other specialized civil engineering works. A total of 263 specialized personnel including heavy cargo transport experts, police escorts, and civil engineers were deployed.
