Seoul World Cup Stadium is transforming into an attractive space where visitors can cool off from the midsummer heat while enjoying water play and a drone show.
Seoul Facilities Corporation (Chairman Han Guk-yeong) announced on the 2nd that it will hold the "Midsummer Fantasy" event at the World Cup Stadium from the 8th to the 10th of this month. The event offers various experiences and attractions, including a waterslide water park, drone light show, food market and flea market, and busking performances.
The corporation set up a water play area in the auxiliary stadium within the World Cup Stadium, featuring a total of seven pools including six waterslides. There are five pools for toddlers and two large pools. Visitors, including children, can enjoy various water play programs such as a fountain tunnel, pedal boats, and walking balls.
The water play area is open free of charge to all citizens from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the event period. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian to enter.
Every evening during the event, busking performances by indie bands will take place at the North Plaza. Nine teams, including "Turntable," "Rebird," "Lee Sinwol," and "M.I.K," will perform various shows from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On the evening of the last day of waterslide operation, the 10th, a spectacular "Night Drone Light Show" featuring a swarm of about 300 drones will be held at the North Plaza. With the themes of harmony and passion, numerous drones will decorate the night sky over the World Cup Stadium.
