Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, is solidifying her position as the Democratic presidential candidate with overwhelming support. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced on the 30th (local time) that Vice President Harris is the only candidate on the ballot.
According to The New York Times (NYT) and ABC News, the Democratic Party plans to conduct a roll call vote, the official procedure for selecting the presidential candidate, from the 1st to the 5th of next month.
The DNC stated that Vice President Harris is the only candidate on the ballot. Nationwide, 3,923 delegates petitioned to nominate Vice President Harris as the Democratic candidate, and she secured the support of 99% of participating delegates.

The DNC announced that the presidential candidate will be announced by the 7th of next month. The convention, where Vice President Harris's acceptance speech and other events are scheduled, will be held in Chicago from the 19th to the 22nd of next month.
