The Hamyang-gun China South China Market Development Team achieved a significant milestone by securing export agreements worth $1.57 million for local agricultural food companies during an export consultation meeting held in Guangzhou, China, on the 29th.

This success was driven by the strong commitment of buyers, with whom Hamyang-gun has maintained consistent exchanges, to discover new import items. Local buyers showed particular interest in health foods such as processed Sanyangsam products, Samgyetang, and Yeoju-hwan, which accounted for a significant portion of the export agreements.
Prior to the consultation meeting, a seminar on intellectual property protection and Chinese licensing, organized by a local company, provided participating companies with essential knowledge for entering the Chinese market, making it a valuable experience.
Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is a region known for strong consumer purchasing power and a high preference for imported foods. With the growing demand for health products, local buyers expressed increased interest in health foods, and the consultations confirmed the positive prospects for participating companies to enter the Chinese market.
Jin Byungyeong, Mayor of Hamyang-gun, stated, "Following the unexpected achievements and business agreements from the export consultation in Vietnam last April, we anticipate that the Chinese market will play a significant role in the export of Hamyang’s agricultural food products. We will continue to expand our export markets through diverse overseas marketing activities."
Meanwhile, the Hamyang-gun China South China Market Development Team plans to visit local importers and conduct market research at major supermarkets in Guangzhou, China, on July 30, aiming to enhance the effective entry and export competitiveness of Hamyang agricultural food products in the Chinese market.
