A police officer who was off duty discovered a severely disabled person who had been lost in the rain and wandering for about 13 hours, and safely returned them to their family.
On the 29th, Yonhap News reported, "At around 8:15 p.m. on the 25th, Sergeant Im Seong-cheol of the Jeju Police Agency, while heading home after work, found a missing man in his 50s with a severe disability, Mr. A, and handed him over to the police."

View original imageAccording to the report, Sergeant Im, on his way home after finishing his shift, spotted a man walking in the rain near the Gashinamul bus stop in Yeongpyeong-dong, Jeju City. At that time, Sergeant Im recalled the case details mentioned by a colleague who had conducted a drone search for the missing person earlier that day. The missing person was described as wearing a yellow vest and was last seen near a sales office in Wolpyeong-dong, Jeju City.
Seeing the yellow vest while driving, Sergeant Im immediately stopped his vehicle. He then spoke with Mr. A to confirm his identity. Sergeant Im took Mr. A to a nearby convenience store, bought him food and drinks, and stayed with him until the police arrived.

It was confirmed that Mr. A had been wandering for about 13 hours before being found. Mr. A’s family expressed their gratitude to the police, saying, "Even though this was the third missing report, we are very thankful for finding Mr. A quickly and safely."
A police official stated, "We checked CCTV and tracked the movements to conduct the search and issued a missing alert due to the high risk of heatstroke from the heatwave, but we could not find Mr. A. Thanks to Sergeant Im’s attention to the case, we were able to safely locate the missing person."
