Gyeongnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council Submits Regional Issues to Gyeongnam Lawmakers
The Gyeongsangnam-do Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council continues to actively pursue projects for balanced regional development.
On the 24th, the council held a meeting with National Assembly members from the Gyeongnam region to directly present and discuss key issues for revitalizing the local economy.
The meeting was attended by Chairman Choi Jaeho, as well as the presidents of the Jinju, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Yangsan, Miryang, Haman, and Geoje Chambers of Commerce and Industry, local National Assembly members, Choi Manrim, Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeongsangnam-do, and about 30 other participants.
During the meeting, the presidents of each regional chamber submitted and discussed 24 economic issues specific to their areas, requesting active interest and cooperation so that these issues can be addressed at the National Assembly level.
The main proposals included: ▲Differentiated application of corporate, income, and inheritance taxes by region ▲Establishment of a special employment system for foreign students ▲Designation of the National Aviation Industrial Complex as an Opportunity Development Zone ▲Expansion of the Tongyeong-Goseong National Industrial Complex ▲Construction of an Aerospace Complex City ▲Improvement of the business succession support system ▲Construction of an expressway between Geoje and Tongyeong, among others.
Chairman Choi Jaeho emphasized, "Gyeongnam has vast potential and development possibilities, such as in defense and aerospace, to lead Korea. To resolve the region's economic challenges, local National Assembly members, administration, and the business community must speak with one voice."
