Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical Renews Packaging of Athlete's Foot Treatment 'PM'... "Expecting Strengthened Brand Awareness"
Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical, a leading company in over-the-counter drugs (CEO Kim Seong-gon, Jo Jeong-young), announced on the 19th that it has renewed the packaging of its athlete's foot treatment product, ‘PM’, in celebration of its 67th anniversary since launch.
The packaging renewal maintains PM’s brand colors of navy and orange while applying a simple design to enhance uniformity. The renewed products include a total of four types: ‘PM External Solution 70ml’, ‘PM Nail Lacquer’, ‘PM Cool Aerosol’, and ‘PM Triple Cream’.
‘PM’, the founding product of Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical, was developed as Korea’s first athlete's foot treatment under the slogan “The nation thrives when the people’s feet are healthy.” The now discontinued ‘PM Liquid’ was launched in 1957 with salicylic acid as its main ingredient. This product’s strength was that when applied to the affected athlete's foot area, it dissolved keratin, allowing immediate drug penetration into the skin, which suited the Korean habit of expecting rapid improvement.
Currently, PM is available in various ingredients and formulations such as liquid, cream, nail lacquer, and spray. These include ‘PM External Solution’, which acts dually by dissolving keratin and providing antifungal effects; ‘PM Nail Lacquer’ for treating nail athlete's foot; spray-type ‘PM Zolque Solution’; cream-type combination ‘PM Triple Cream’; and ‘PM Cool Aerosol’, a gas spray type that can be easily applied to affected areas.
A company representative stated, “PM is our flagship product that has continuously attempted diversification in ingredients and formulations to this day,” adding, “We expect that this packaging renewal will increase brand awareness among consumers of various age groups, including younger generations.”
