Yeongcheon City Selected as an Excellent Institution with 'A Grade' in Childcare Service
Selected for the Fourth Time Following 2018, 2020, and 2023
Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province, has been selected as a Grade A (Excellent Institution) in the 2023 evaluation of child care service providers conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
This evaluation classified 227 child care service providers nationwide into three groups: urban, urban-rural, and rural. It covered all aspects of operations, including child care worker activities, service provision, budget execution, and follow-up measures for service inspections.
The city received excellent scores in the urban-rural group, ranking among the top 34 institutions nationwide. This marks the fourth time Yeongcheon has been selected, following recognitions in 2018, 2020, and 2023.
The child care service is a program in which a child care worker visits households with children under the age of 12 who require care due to gaps in parenting, providing customized care services.
Currently, 128 child care workers are active, and 443 children are receiving child care services.
Mayor Choi Kimoon said, "Our consecutive selection as an excellent institution is the result of the dedication of child care service workers and child care workers on the ground. We will continue our efforts to make Yeongcheon a city free from child care concerns by providing stable services."
The award ceremony for the excellent institution selection is scheduled to be held at the National Child Care Service Communication Day event in December.
