Kim Chang-jun, Chairman of the Repair Technology Foundation, Appointed as Chairman of the National Heritage Repair Technology Committee
29 Committee Members and 45 Expert Members Appointed
On the 15th, the Cultural Heritage Administration announced the appointment of twenty-nine members and forty-five expert members to serve on the National Heritage Repair Technology Committee. The term of office is three years.
The National Heritage Repair Technology Committee is an organization that investigates and deliberates on plans, standards, and design reviews related to national heritage repairs. It operates divided into three subcommittees: Conservation, Restoration & Maintenance, and Modern & Contemporary.
On this day, Kim Chang-jun, chairman of the Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation and former deputy director of the Cultural Heritage Administration (the predecessor of the Cultural Heritage Administration) from 2011 to 2013, was re-elected as the committee chair. The vice-chairman is Professor Kim Wang-jik of Myongji University.
The Cultural Heritage Administration explained, "The proportion of new members is 72.4% of the total, and the average age (58.3 years) is also lower than that of the inaugural committee (62.6 years). This reflects considerations of regional balance and gender equality."
