K-Veterinary Pharmaceuticals Target Southeast Asian Market... Participated in Livestock Expo in Jakarta, Indonesia
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will set up a Korean pavilion at the '2024 Indonesia Livestock Expo' held in Jakarta, Indonesia from the 17th to the 19th to promote Korean animal pharmaceuticals and explore the Southeast Asian market.
The Southeast Asian region, along with Latin America, is a major export market for animal pharmaceuticals, and Korea also participated as a group in the Thailand International Expo this March.
The Ministry supports group participation in overseas expos annually to provide opportunities for Korean animal pharmaceutical manufacturers and exporters to develop overseas sales channels and expand exports. This expo is one of Indonesia's largest livestock expos, attracting over 10,000 buyers from around the world. During the expo, Indonesia's feed, dairy, and fisheries expos are held simultaneously. Sector-specific academic conferences (business conferences) are also held, allowing experts from various fields to exchange information and review the latest livestock trends.
Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country, with 87% of its population practicing Islam, making the chicken meat market a large-scale sector. As the livestock industry is expected to continue growing, the Ministry anticipates that exports of animal pharmaceuticals will also grow accordingly.
The government, led by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, will attend the exhibition together with the Korea Animal Pharmaceuticals Association to focus on understanding the latest trends and information related to animal pharmaceuticals in Southeast Asia, and plans to identify export industry challenges through meetings.
