National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Mongolia Jointly Investigate Cultural Heritage
Cheoktin Chagang Baisin Seong Archaeological Sites etc.
The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage announced on the 15th that it will conduct a joint survey with the National Cultural Heritage Center of the Mongolian Ministry of Culture on the Chektin Chagang Baisin Fortress site and the Gandanchigunlen Temple until the 26th. The focus will be on assessing the current status, safety and disaster prevention measures, and preservation conditions of the two sites. The former is a 16th-century fortress site near the Bulgan area in Mongolia, and the latter is a 19th-century Buddhist temple located in Ulaanbaatar.
This is the third time the institute has conducted a joint survey of Mongolian cultural heritage. Starting in 2022 with the Erdenezuu Temple site, a nationally designated cultural heritage site in Mongolia, the institute has also investigated the safety and disaster prevention status and preservation conditions of the Sum Khukh Temple and the Bogd Khan Palace site.
