Genians Wins Pilot Project for Zero Trust Implementation... "Leading Cybersecurity Innovation"
Cybersecurity specialist Genieons announced on the 15th that it has won the bid for the ‘2024 Zero Trust Pilot Project’ commissioned by the Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter referred to as MSIT) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
This project supports the pilot introduction of zero trust solutions from domestic companies targeting government, public institutions, and enterprises. The goal is to promote the spread of zero trust security models optimized for the domestic environment. Four tasks were selected across two sectors?government and public institutions, and private?and a total of 4.5 billion KRW in funding will be provided. Each task will receive up to 1.125 billion KRW in government support.
Genieons is advancing this pilot project by forming a consortium with Susan INT and FutureTech Information & Communication, which possess zero trust element technologies. The consortium will practically verify the universality of zero trust with demand organizations such as Atraffic.
The Genieons consortium will carry out the project over six months from June to November 2024. They plan to implement the open zero trust model in actual work environments and verify its appropriateness. The main objectives are ▲ designing a security model that complies with the fundamental principles of zero trust ▲ verifying the model’s universality through deployment and operation in demand companies with different IT infrastructure environments ▲ establishing and spreading an open zero trust ecosystem by publicly sharing pilot project deliverables.
Consortium member Susan INT, the market leader with proven security solutions, will provide policy enforcement points (PEP) and implement core modules based on ZTNA by integrating zero trust essentials such as IAM, PIP, and PDP through standard protocols. Additionally, it will be responsible for seamless linkage functions with currently operated solutions.
Genieons plans to emerge as a leading zero trust company through this project. The company has already succeeded in securing the first domestic and global zero trust customers and actively demonstrated its business commitment by announcing the ‘Zero Trust 2.0 Strategy.’
Through the open zero trust model, most domestic companies are expected to adopt zero trust. It is anticipated to contribute to establishing and spreading a zero trust ecosystem that all security vendors can participate in.
Lee Dong-beom, CEO of Genieons, stated, “We expect to establish and expand the ecosystem of zero trust suppliers and demanders through the architecture design and construction of an open zero trust model tailored to the domestic environment,” adding, “We will devote all efforts to realizing national cyber security with a zero trust security model that has evolved to an optimized stage covering all core elements, not just individual solution levels.”
