The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) announced on the 12th that it held the '2024 Textile and Fashion Industry CEO Forum.'
The forum, held from the 10th to the 12th at Ananti at Busan Cove Hotel in Busan Metropolitan City, was attended by about 460 participants, the largest number ever.

This year marks the 20th CEO Forum, and it is the first time it has been held in Busan. The federation explained that Busan was selected as the venue because it is a major production area for the textile and fashion industry. CEOs of textile and fashion companies from all over the country attended the forum, with many participants from the Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Busan regions.
Choi Byung-oh, Chairman of KOFOTI (Chairman of Fashion Group Hyungji), said in his opening remarks, "I hope this CEO Forum becomes a platform for strategic insights on sustainable development, a common challenge for the textile and fashion industry in an era of uncertainty and great transformation, as well as a venue for solidarity to respond to change."
In the keynote lecture, Seo Yong-gu, Dean of the Graduate School of Business at Sookmyung Women’s University (Professor of Business Administration), analyzed cases of global long-lived textile and fashion companies under the theme "The Secret of Textile and Fashion Companies That Have Survived for 350 Years." On the second day of the forum, Kim Woong-ki, Chairman of Global SeAH Group, gave a lecture on entrepreneurship under the theme "The World Is My Treasure Island."
In the following lecture, Cho Dong-chul, President of the Korea Development Institute, presented the direction the Korean economy should take under the theme "Korean Economic Outlook and Reform Tasks." On the final day, Yoo Hong-jun, Distinguished Professor at Myongji University, introduced the history and excellence of Korean cultural heritage under the theme "The Identity of Korean Art: Pilgrimage to the National Museum of the Korean Peninsula."

A KOFOTI official stated, "In difficult management conditions, cooperation and coordination among textile and fashion professionals are crucial to securing future core competitiveness and enhancing global capabilities," adding, "This event is the only summer forum held among industry organizations, strengthening harmony and solidarity among participants and contributing to the development of the textile and fashion industry."
