Jangheung-gun Hosts Special Lecture Inviting Woo Dong-gi, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Local Era

A New Jangheung-gun with Future Competitiveness in the Era of Local Autonomy

Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it held a special lecture titled "Vision and Strategy for the Local Era" on the 10th at the county office meeting room, inviting Woo Dong-gi, Chairman of the Presidential Commission on the Local Era.

Launched in July last year, the Presidential Commission on the Local Era is an organization under the president that serves as a hub for government policies related to local areas, such as establishing a comprehensive plan for the local era and designating special zones for opportunity development and educational advancement, with the goal of "local-led balanced development and responsible local decentralization."

We invited Woo Dong-gi, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the Local Era, to hold a special lecture on the theme of "Vision and Strategy for the Local Era."

This special lecture was prepared to help Jangheung-gun public officials cultivate their understanding of government policies on local autonomy decentralization and regional balanced development, and to seek alternatives to overcome the risk of local extinction faced by basic local governments including Jangheung-gun.

With about 150 Jangheung-gun public officials in attendance, Chairman Woo presented the realities of local areas, balanced development policies of past governments, and key tasks to be promoted in the local era.

Chairman Woo emphasized five major strategies: △ Bold local decentralization to enhance autonomy △ Courageous educational reform to nurture talent △ Proactive specialized development to preserve individuality △ Customized welfare to improve quality of life △ Creative innovative growth to increase jobs.
