Mayor Kim Kyung-hee Signs 'Sister City' Agreement with Santa Clara City on Site
On the 9th (local time), Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that Mayor Kim Kyung-hee signed a friendship agreement with Santa Clara City, California, USA, in the United States.

This friendship agreement was made to resume and revitalize exchanges that had been interrupted for over three years due to COVID-19, following the friendship agreement between the two cities in April 2019.
Santa Clara is a central city in Silicon Valley, located in central California. It is a key hub of advanced industries, home to many information technology (IT) companies and venture capital firms.
According to the agreement, the two cities plan to promote various policies through exchanges in diverse fields such as culture, arts, advanced technology, education, and business activities. Icheon City intends to actively expand practical exchanges utilizing the semiconductor company infrastructure of both cities through this agreement.

At the signing ceremony, Mayor Kim said, "The two cities have much in common as centers of advanced industrial technology and cities of opportunity and change," adding, "I hope that continuous and active exchanges in various fields will allow residents of both cities to enjoy tangible benefits." Lisa Gillmor, Mayor of Santa Clara, also responded, "I look forward to fostering a strong and close friendship through active exchanges between the two cities."
