Six-Car Pileup Caused by Drunk Driving in Gwanak-gu, Seoul... Man in His 20s Booked
Charges Including Negligent Injury in the Course of Duty
A man in his 20s who caused a six-vehicle pileup while driving under the influence near Danggok Intersection in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, was apprehended by the police.
On the 9th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of professional negligence causing injury under the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, and are currently investigating.
Mr. A is suspected of driving under the influence around 8:50 a.m. near Danggok Intersection and rear-ending the vehicle in front of him. The impact caused a chain collision involving six vehicles. Mr. A sustained minor injuries in the accident, and no other injuries were reported.

The police are also considering applying charges of reckless driving causing death under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes. A police official stated, "We have requested a blood test from the National Forensic Service (NFS)," and added, "We are currently investigating the possibility of applying other charges."
