Jangseong-gun Accelerates Local Water Supply Block Construction Work
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is accelerating the construction of local water supply blocks.
According to the county on the 8th, this work involves dividing the water supply area into blocks and systematizing them, which makes it much easier to establish water distribution plans according to changes in water usage and to manage flexible water supply.

The county, which started construction on April 25, plans to complete the block construction process by September.
As of the end of last month, the completion rate was 93%, so it is expected that the project will be finished within the deadline.
This month, to clean the supply and drainage pipes and check water quality and pressure, water use is inevitably restricted during nighttime in some areas of Jangseong-eup.
Following 2,867 households on the 2nd, water supply will be cut off from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next day on the 9th for 2,256 households in apartments including Hwangryong Market, Myeonsojaeji, Singichon, Waryong, Banggok, Gisan-ri, and Jugong, and on the 11th for 1,727 households in Jang-an-ri, Anpyeong-ri, Gusan-dong, Wolsan-dong, Seongsan-ri, Yutang-ri, and Susan-ri.
A county official said, “We are building a system that can supply clean water stably through water supply block construction,” and added, “We will strive to minimize inconvenience to residents.”
Meanwhile, this block system construction project is being promoted as part of the ‘Local Water Supply Modernization Project.’
After establishing the block system, the county plans to proceed with phased pipeline network maintenance and the establishment of a maintenance management system, aiming to complete the project by 2025 and secure a water service rate of 85%.
The water service rate refers to the ratio of water produced by the water purification plant that is accounted for as revenue from water charges. A higher water service rate means less water loss due to leaks and other factors.
The county was selected as the best institution for water management at the ‘Water and Health Forum’ held last year.
