Ulsan City and KOTRA to Pioneer Southeast Asian Shipbuilding and Marine Markets
Recruitment of Companies for Market Development Delegation Until the 19th of This Month
Support for Overseas Exports Expanded with Selection of 7 Small and Medium Enterprises
Ulsan City is launching efforts to explore overseas markets in order to support the economic recovery of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), expand exports, and diversify markets.
On the 8th, Ulsan City announced that, together with KOTRA Ulsan Support Center, it will dispatch the 'Southeast Asia Shipbuilding and Offshore Equipment Market Development Delegation' from September 29 to October 4, and is recruiting participating companies until July 19.
The delegation plans to conduct export consultations with local overseas buyers and inspect local industries in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Surabaya, Indonesia. Eligible participants are SMEs in the shipbuilding and offshore equipment sector located in Ulsan according to their business registration. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the Ulsan Trade Support System. Seven companies will be selected through an evaluation of consultation potential by the overseas trade offices at the destinations.
Selected companies will not only participate in the 'Southeast Asia Shipbuilding and Offshore Equipment Market Development Delegation,' but will also receive ongoing support such as export consultation management through KOTRA’s overseas trade offices and video consultations with overseas buyers via the Ulsan Digital Trade Support Center (deXter) operated by KOTRA Ulsan Support Center. An official from Ulsan City stated, "We expect many local SMEs in the shipbuilding and offshore sector to participate in this Southeast Asia market development delegation," and added, "Through dispatching the delegation, we plan to actively support the increase of exports by Ulsan SMEs and the expansion of exports to the ASEAN region in Ulsan's core shipbuilding and offshore industry."
