View original imageThe Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will operate the 'Wellness Family Character Camp' for two days on the 4th and 5th to foster a family culture of communication, empathy, respect, and consideration, and to restore the family’s role in character education.
The Wellness Family Character Camp embodies the meanings of well-being, happiness, and fitness. It is a family-linked character education program that supports students' growth by harmonizing physical, mental, and social health.
This character camp will be held over one night and two days at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Character Education Center and nearby regional education cooperation experience sites such as a camping ground and Sanjeong Lake. Twenty families (one student and one guardian each) of 5th and 6th graders from elementary schools in the province, recommended by their school principals, participated.
The character camp consists of ▲ participatory performances and music therapy ▲ plays that cultivate self-esteem and community-oriented character ▲ parent education and student education to emotionally connect with children ▲ family emotion communication workshops ▲ glamping to build affinity ▲ and a healing concert with nature.
A parent who participated in the camp stated, "I wanted to practice the consideration and empathy learned at the camp so that my family could feel warmth and support and begin a journey toward happiness," explaining their reason for applying.
