Creation of 86.49㎡ Area Achasan Leisure Center... Transformed into an Urban Oasis
Weekly Tue-Sat 'Forest Healing Program' Operated, Customized Education for All Ages
Providing Yoga, Meditation for Psychological Healing, Senior Health Lectures, and Early Childhood Forest Play Experience
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has established the ‘Achasan Leisure Center’ in the natural forest of Achasan, where people can enjoy leisure and relaxation, and began operations on the 2nd.
The ‘Achasan Leisure Center (127 Walkerhill-ro),’ covering an area of 86.49㎡, is a community space that embraces all generations. It was newly renovated by reorganizing the existing ecological data room to become a healing spot that meets various leisure demands.
It offers a ‘Forest Healing Program’ for all age groups. The program is designed with customized education reflecting the characteristics of each generation, from infants to seniors. Unique experiences can be enjoyed from Tuesday to Saturday, excluding public holidays.
Every Tuesday in July, exercise classes for seniors will be held. These physical activities aim to improve cognitive function and foster emotional well-being. On Wednesdays, psychological healing such as mindfulness care, meditation, aromatherapy, yoga, and tea ceremonies will be provided.
On Thursdays, a health lecture by a Korean medicine doctor will be conducted to teach prevention methods for chronic diseases. Fridays offer forest play experiences for infants and toddlers, while Saturdays provide communication time with family through mission activities. Additionally, a horticulture program for emotional stability of pregnant women is held once a month.
Those wishing to participate can apply online through the Achasan Leisure Center website or register on-site. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis for each program, and all participation fees are free of charge.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We newly opened the leisure center to provide happy and healthy relaxation opportunities by utilizing the diversity of Achasan’s nature,” and added, “We have prepared various healing programs that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy, so we ask for your active participation.”
