WSI Raises 2 Billion KRW in Series A Funding for EasyMediBot... "Strengthening Surgical Robot Business"
WSI announced on the 1st that its subsidiary Easy Medi Bot has successfully raised 2 billion KRW in Series A funding.
This investment involved Black Pearl Ace New Technology Investment Association No.1, and was made through redeemable convertible preferred shares (RCPS).
Easy Medi Bot plans to use the funds raised for mass production and research and development (R&D) of surgical robots. In particular, it will focus investment on the commercialization of Easy Medi Bot's robot-assisted uterine manipulator, "U-Bot."
U-Bot is a gynecological laparoscopic surgery assist robot being developed by Easy Medi Bot. With an intuitive control method and ergonomic movements, medical professionals can more easily and precisely adjust the posture and direction of the manipulator. This significantly improves surgical convenience and accuracy. It is also designed to overcome limitations of existing gynecological laparoscopic surgery robots, such as prolonged surgery time and damage to the uterus and surrounding tissues.
A WSI representative said, "Through this investment, we have proven Easy Medi Bot's differentiated surgical robot technology and growth potential," adding, "Based on the secured resources, we will accelerate the development and mass production of the world's first surgical assist robot uterine manipulator and aim for product commercialization in 2025."
