Busan Port Authority Conducts Emergency Drill for Major Accidents at Construction Sites
Emergency Alarm and Location Transmission Features, Utilizing Smart Safety Equipment
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) conducted an "Emergency Drill for Serious Accidents at Construction Sites" on the 25th at the expansion site of Gamcheon Port General Wharf (near Piers 3 and 4) to establish a rapid accident response system at construction sites.
About 40 people, including representatives from Busan Port Authority, the construction project management team, and the construction company, participated in the drill. They simulated a scenario in which a worker falls into the sea during work, and practiced the entire process from on-site rescue activities, establishing an emergency reporting system, emergency treatment and transfer, to devising measures to prevent recurrence.
In particular, this drill utilized a smart safety device called a "Smart Tag," which automatically sends an emergency alarm to the control room if a worker falls or similar incidents occur. The control room received information about the fall location and the worker's condition, quickly organized rescue equipment and personnel, and conducted rescue training accordingly.
